Amber Hunting in Chiapas, Mexico

Dave and Sandy recently returned from an amber hunting trip in Chiapas Mexico. They had to hike very rugged terrain, often on trails that were treacherously narrow, to get to the amber mines. Once at the mines, they had to go into very dark, narrow caves, sometimes crawling to enter. The caves were lit by small candles making it difficult to see well. The average miner there would work from 6 AM until dusk and only have a small handful of amber to show for their hard work.
